The Vision for the New Veldre Church

The new church should:

Be so small that I feel near
Be so big that it gives the feeling of God's creation

Be so beautiful that I feel The Good News
Be so simple that I feel Jesus Christ atoning for us

Be so inclusive that I feel welcome
Be so exclusive that I feel the need to take a stand

Be so closed that destructive people can't burn it down
Be so open that all those who seek can find shelter

Be so big and strong that it stands out as a beautiful and majestic landmark in Veldre
Be so small and innocent that no one feels unworthy to take part

Be so old-fashioned as to represent two thousand years of history
Be so modern as to stand in the new millennium

Be so traditional that everyone feels at home
Be so functional that new generations will develop and use it

Be so big that there is room for many
Be so intimate that it doesn't seem empty during regular services

Be a cathedral without being one
Be a working church without looking like a community centre

And above all else: it should not like a compromise.
